For the first time in my life I'm gonna try something else than Hornady bullets......

Picked up some 200 grn Nosler Partitions intended for a 60" moose...........

Can someone with a Nosler manual please post min to max loads for a 300 win mag with IMR4350 with 200 grn Partitions?

Muchisimas gracias

I don't have a Nosler manual, but my Speer manual shows 65 to 69 grains of IMR 4350 with a 200 grain spitzer bullet. Velocity with the maximum charge is 2833, and that is with a 24 inch barrel. Have you considered going with a slower powder for that heavy 200 grain bullet? In my Hodgdon book, H1000 gives 2984 fps with a 200 grain bullet. My brother will be trying out H1000 in his 300 Mag. soon, with the 168 grain Barnes triple shock bullets. I can let you know how it does if you're interested.

Here are the stats from the Nosler Reloading Manual #4:

300 Winchester Magnum -
200 Gr. Partition Spitzer
Ballistic Coefficient .481
Sectional Density .301

IMR 4350

68.0, 2950 fps, 88% Load Density - Max
66.0, 2870 fps, 85% Load Density
64.0, 2790 fps, 83% Load Density - Min*

* Indicates most accurate load tested.

If you need any other load data for different powders, let me know.

Nosler manual #2
.300 Win. Mag
200 gr Partition
IMR 4350
Min. 64.0, 2791 fps
66.0, 2885 fps
Max. 68.0, 2946 fps

Manual #3 is the same, withen a few fps

Nosler manuals tend to be a bit consevative, so don't be afraid of the max. loads, I'm shooting over max. with both my .270 & .338.
( loads over book max. are not being recomended, do this at your own risk )

T Bone... 4350 is a little on the fast side for heavy bullets in the .300 Win...

I'd suggest nothing faster burning than 4831...

I've had excellent results with RL-22 in the .300 Winny...

Nosler #4 lists max 72.5 and min. 68.5 with RL-22 and the 200 Partition...

Thanks for the help folks. I just got back from the store with the One book for 300 win that shows all the different companies loads. Kinda odd how different manufacturers list different info. Nosler's info lists IMR 4350 as one of the top powders for getting fps while the others list the slower powders like RL 22 or H1000. I guess each rifle is different for pressure and each production run of powder will have some degree of variance. I'll work up to Nosler's hot loads and see if I can get accuracy out of IMR4350. If not then I'll try slower powder.

You think it's funny reading about it,, wait until you try to duplicate the performance from any manual.. Then you'll see funny..

My personal favorite for 200 grain bullets in the 300 Win Mag is H-1000. Very consistant, even burning, and a pain in the ass to load.

My manual shows H-4831 as the most accurate powder. 70.5gr Max @ 2910fps. 93% load density.

I've used H-4831 almost exclusivley in my 7Mag and it has done very, very well. Might want to give it a try.
