NM diy pronghorn

Oct 23 left to go check and hunt a spot but somebody was already there so I went to another spot that wasn't very good .. but then this afternoon we helped another hunter pack out a deer , after that we saw some very good deer . We tried to stalk em but they winded us , we could of went a different way but there hardly any cover that way .IMG-20231023-WA0031.jpgIMG-20231023-WA0040.jpgIMG-20231023-WA0040.jpgIMG-20231023-WA0036.jpg20231023_085738.jpgIMG-20231023-WA0041.jpg

Get on 'em @typhoon916
Those are some good looking ones from yesterday. Get that wind right and let the smoke pole bark!
Good job on helping other hunters!
Good luck for the rest of your season!

Tell us more @typhoon916
Where is that muley? It needs to go down!!
Sneak up on them. You don't have a lot of topography. May have to slither on your stomach like them snakes you are into!

Oct 24 left in the dark with some coffee we met up with @Valley1320 friend Jacob to go hunt .. We got to the piece of public but didn't spot anything right away then on the 3rd spot of glassing we spotted some deer there was a nice 3x3 in there but they kinda spooked a bit and ran behind a small hill there also some cows close by . We grabbed our packs and smoke poles and took off has we where getting the wind right on em we spotted a very nice buck at 180 but he took off right away . But we didn't spot those bucks unfortunately . We split up after that , around mid afternoon Jacob spotted a nice buck bedded in the shade so he came to we where so stalked to whitin 20 yds of him Jacob was ganna shoot him since he spotted him but didn't get a shot off . The nicer buck went right while the forky that was with him went left and stopped at 120 and that's where I shot him . P S I did all this hunting and walking with a pulled muscle in my ankle/ leg area biofreeze helped out a bunch . I can kiss tag soup goodby.20231024_154332.jpgIMG-20231024-WA0023.jpgIMG-20231024-WA0021.jpgIMG-20231024-WA0008.jpg20231024_093455.jpg20231024_090059.jpg

Thanks for sharing @typhoon916
You put multiple long days into the hunt. You were using a primitive weapon, and not a longer range rifle. You were forced to truly hunt the animal. That is considered a trophy in my book. Good job, and you are going back home with lean meat for the freezer!
