NM deer unit 2B

My son drew the sept 24-30 2013 youth hunt, we have never hunted this unit before any help on where to go our even start would be great and appreciated.

I have only hunted 2B in the later part of the year so I'm not sure where the deer would be. Most of the deer don't show up in this unit until Colorado gets a bit of snow. I've heard for the resident deer the southern portion of the unit is best (south of hwy 64??). Good luck to your son, I hope you get to post some success pictures here.

I would hunt near the lake. There should be plenty of resident deer.
