This is a stretch but has anyone on here hunted the SD prairie elk unit 27? I'm considering grabbing a cow elk tag and want to plan for it 2 years out. I don't expect anyone to give me there honey hole, just want some insight on the unit. I've been eyeing a spot already that would require camping 3.5 miles in. Are the elk really out in the grasslands? Since the unit is all of Fall River county and then some. Or should I be focusing on the timber in the northern part of the unit? Feel free to PM me
