I am 65 years old. Overweight. But my most important goal in life is to hunt as much as I can, as often as I can and wear out some gun barrels shooting paper unless I can shoot varmints.
My current "elk" rifle is a custom built on a Rem 700 action chambered in 338 Edge topped with a Leupold 4.5x14 scope. I am currently shooting Barnes TTSX 280 grain bullets at approximately 3000 fps that will put four shots into 3/8's inch at a hundred yards. Prior to throwing down a ton of money for the current rifle, I used a 300 RUM Model 700 with the same scope that is on my custom rifle.
I hunt with the same group of guys every year and love all of them. My Dad is one of the group and at 87 years old put his tag on a cow elk this year in Utah.
My hunting bucket list includes an antelope hunt somewhere, lots of prairie dog shooting somewhere, ground squirrel shooting somewhere, stand hunting whitetail deer somewhere and more coyote hunting everywhere.
My state of residence is Nevada with a second home in Kalifornia. I am trying very hard to spend all of my time in Nevada but my wife has a love for our grandchildren in Kalifornia. Not a good situation.
I love to reload and don't shoot factory rounds much at all.
