In 2020, the government was direct depositing thousands of dollars into people's checking accounts, the Federal Reserve dropped short term rates to basically 0% and injected trillions of dollars of liquidity into the system. Also of course was a decrease in supply of nearly all goods during covid. Inflation in 2021 and 2022 was going higher no matter who was president. And that's not a criticism or defense for either Trump or Biden, it's just the truth.

Now Trump is begging for lower rates which if enacted, would likely cause inflation to go higher.
