My grandfather, my father's father, owned the general store in a tiny town in Appalachian Virginia. He went broke, by extending credit to lifelong friends, who were not able to make good on their debts.

I am certain that many family trees have a similar story.

I now identify as a Native American. No more draw system for me. I get a deer, antelope, and elk tag free every year

Side note. I've never met a person who regretted a vote. Ever. I think that alone speaks more to why this republic will fail, like all other attempts at gov't, than any other line of evidence.

In 2016, I mailed my absentee ballot, mostly red with Kasich and Rubio written in for president and vice. I regretted the Gianforte vote when he assaulted a reporter a day or two after I submitted it. Back then I thought Trump was an aberration in the Republican party, I've not made the same mistake since then.
