This past year I was looking to get a rifle chambered in .308WIN.

I ended up getting two of them, a Remington 700ADL and a Weatherby Vanguard.

Can I get some opinions on these two fine firearms. I'm looking to turning one of them into a mid range rifle, up to 500-600 yards.

I would say that you got two good ones. A coin flip as to which to use where. I like 150 Hornady Interlocks in my .308s for deer and they are dialed to 550 yards. For elk, I would pick 165 or 180-grain bullets as the preferred, I think.

The joy of the .308, is that it shoots so many bullets/loads well. Have fun.
