Yeah, I can see where this can get really dangerous to my bank account really quick! I purchased the entry-level priced MDT, but already caught myself 'stepping up' to the more expensive $600 stock just because it 'looked cooler'!!! It's dangerous stuff, these hobbies! ;)

Sling studs are 10/32 thread.... It’s pretty easy.
That's what I think has got me so disappointed in the "quality" of the Weatherby. The sling stud was just a course-thread screw, screwed into the plastic. The T-Nut will work and that's probably what I'll do, but I'll have to buy a different sling stud.

But any excuse to buy a new stock is always a good idea!
Yes!

It came! It came!

Man is this an upgrade over the stock from Weatherby! Put the Tricer bipod on the swivel stud for now as I wait for the arca rail with m-lok attachment to arrive. Of course I also ordered the wrong magazine since the Weatherby/Howa is a long action and I just assumed the MDT magazine would fit it. Not able to shoot until this weekend so I should have enough time for the magazine from Accurate-Mag to get here.

Ended up shooting about 3 boxes of Norma Whitetail 140gr over the weekend. Saving the expensive handloads until i get everything figured out. Stretched out to 300 yards and shot quite a few 5 rd groups then took the 600yd round trip walk for the barrel to cool since it was too hot to touch after 5 shots in a row. Groups averaged 3-4 inches at 300 yards with the factory Norma ammo. The gun can now shoot better than I am capable, so some more practice time is warranted over the rest of the summer.
