Yeah, I know. Not always the most popular topic. I'm trying to build points in Co, so looking for other options to hunt lopes for now. Whats the best way to find landowner tags in NM? Not looking for trophy areas, and will even travel for a doe hunt. Love lope meat.

Search the F&G website, they list the landowners who get the tags and provide the phone number.

Aren't WY does closer and cheaper? Maybe you want both states?

Ive been looking at Wy for weeks and havent found a unit I can draw with 1 point that has any decent public land. I hear they have cheap doe tags, but haven't deciphered how to obtain them. Wy confuses me

IIRC Wyoming doe tags are not point draws. You can kill does in most any antelope unit.

Is it otc, or can you buy them if you draw a buck tag?

Btw, are you a sparky?

I would suggest you get on the WY G&F website because everything you're asking is right on there and pretty easy to find. Click on the Hunting Regulations section and then on the 2018 booklet and plan to read it thoroughly for your answers.

ummmmm...Colorado has OTC archery antelope tags. What could be easier about getting a lope tag?

I love hunting lopes. I do try to archery hunt them, but its an A tag, so buying one can keep me from getting other ml and rifle tags. All depends on what I can get 2nd choice or off the leftover list. I want to get 3 or 4 tags this year, plus, Ive never hunted NM, so that would be pretty cool

I have read them a few times. Its very confusing to me. I think it's just so different from Co and Az that it doesnt click . Plus, figuring which units have land vs which units have tags is a whole other headache.

Edit: found where the regs discuss reduced doe tags. Makes sense now. You get 2 in the 1st draw, and 2 more in the 2nd draw? That's a lot of meat lol.
