Early archery elk. Yes, my New Mexico luck has been amazing. It offsets my terrible luck in Idaho where I've flunked out for 16 years in units with far better odds.

Thanks. This will be with Larry's youngest brother, my college roommate and companion on my Mexico jail break, Jimmer. He lives in AK and has never hunted elk, so it should be an experience. Might even do a podcast to tell the entire Mexico jail story, once and for all.

Have you hunted in this unit? If so would you hunt up in the north in the mountain area or look in the southern end?
