New from PA

New here from the Philly suburbs. Never hunted before, unless you counting hitting deer with your car by accident, hunting. Read Steve Rinella’s book and the rest is history.
I am taking the PA safety course currently. I want to hunt mostly deer, but there are way too many choices with rifles calibers and scopes. I am looking to learn more before purchasing and equipment. Help!
