Hi all just found this amazing fourm through Randy's podcast. I live in Pilot Rock Oregon, grew up in Portland but I'm just not cut out for the city life. As long as I can remember I have been hunting the public land in Eastern OR with my dad and brother. Love to hunt Mule deer but it always feels like a practice run for elk season. For years I hunted cow elk in northeast oregon and learned a lot about chasing elk in the late season. My (new) wife hunted with me for elk last year during archery season and it was a blast, never got her a shot but lots of elk in close... she's hooked. I have a 14 year old daughter who has taken a cow elk and her first buck last year. My son is just trurning 12 and can't wait for the fall when he will have a youth cow tag.
