Its been awhile since I have been on here. Life got pretty busy. The family drew some really good elk tags this year and I am putting the final plans together for the season. We have 2 Wyoming 100 Type 1 tags and 1 Nevada Unit 16/17 tags.
Got a pretty good plan for the Wyoming tag. Dad and uncle will be out there 5 days before the season to hopefully get us on some good bulls opening morning. Picking up my son Thursday night from the airport and heading to camp for the opener. Have Friday-Saturday blocked out from college so he should have a great time. Looking for the best place to park a trailer and set up camp if anyone has suggestions.
Nevada is going to be a little harder. Not going to get much time to scout with the Wyoming hunt plus my other sons general Utah deer tag. Planning stick to 162 and have 3-4 solid options to hunt. There is just a lot of basins and train heads to explore. Will have a full 8-9 days to hunt but want to try and make the best of it and get a quick scouting trip in. If anyone has hunted 162 Early Rifle Nov. 6th and can share some information or just check out my game plan that would be great.
