I just found out I drew an archery Elk tag in Nevada for 76,77,79,81 with 2 points!!! (0.18% draw odds)
I have never hunted elk before, and never hunted nevada before, and was not banking on drawings the tag...
From research i have done tactics include spot and stalk, sitting water in early part of the season and calling towards the end of the season, but wanted any advice on tactics for this area?
Also, will summer scouting be effective for locating elk or will they move by the time season comes?
If anyone knows this area and wouldn't mind giving me some general info, it would sure be appreciated, but I'm not asking for gps coordinates or secret spots lol just general info on the area and desert elk behavior.
Season is Aug, 25 - Sept, 16
