Yesterday was a sort of surreal day. It was the first day of my retirement and my wife put me to work all day. I'm still exhausted.
But in the aftermath of that, I learned that yesterday was National Golden Retriever day. I have had goldens almost all of my life, but this is the first I heard about that. I guess I think every day should be National Golden Retriever Day. And so does Gus.
Here is Gus just last week on his last day of work before he too retired - but just until 1 September when the Early Teal Season opens. We bagged a few quail in Nebraska.

I realize that a few of you may quibble about the breed for National Dog. That's okay. I'm good with more than one breed of the National Dog, but those of you blessed with a Golden, post a few picts!
