Box X Ranch Fencing Project — North American Pronghorn Foundation

Come Volunteer for the weekend with the North American Pronghorn Foundation. We will be working on removing and modifying fence on the Box X ranch in Southeast Montana on June 13-14.

I got excited when I saw the MT project....then I saw it would be a 900 mile round trip for me. I will pencil it in though. Time to find some projects on the HiLine.

Alzada is darn near 900 miles from anywhere! But the trip is worth it if you stop to enjoy some time at Medicine Rocks State Park, best place in Montana to watch night sky and the aura of ancient times is nice juju.

I had a fence project with mule deer foundation and PF that turned out great (about 13 miles IIRC) I had more planned with them, but an administration denied future work. I also had something with BHA. Smaller fence project and not in pronghorn migratory habitat. I was out the door before that could be finalized.

Anyway, very happy NAPF is conducting this important work.

We (in partnership with MOLF) funded materials for another fencing project SE Mt as well. Quite a bit smaller, but I don’t think volunteers will be needed on that one. There is certainly a focus on the Powder River Basin since we will be announcing the Powder River Coalition very soon.
