Well Bivy, I have not utilized either of them, but would throw in the Alaskan II for the versus competition, and a pack to consider. I love mine. Heavy loads - no problem. It will haul it. It has a rainfly, a must, that pops out and over quick to keep you light and dry. I would give this pack my TOP OF THE LINE vote, and I have never worn MR or Sitka? Seems that you are into top of the line and the best, so check it out. See if 'the best' fills that pack up?

Putm... I've used the AKII and seen it in action many times... buddy used it quite a bit for a couple years... Then he switched back to his Dana and is now buying an MR...

It is a functional pack and can do the job, but it is in a completely different category of packs than the MR.... The SG is in a different category too... just a different pack altogether, but not near the qual of the MR...IMO

I have a AKII frame as well. I have never figured out how to fix it so it hangs in the garage.
