One thing I’ve learned from hunting elk my whole life here that always works: don’t quit.

enjoy the experience, take your time and absorb the area. Set aside more than 1 week if you can. Start out truck camping at the trailhead, then as you get more comfortable you can move into the mountains in your tent if you prefer. good luck

Still Spooky to me when hunting solo and I’ve lived here almost 20 years, since a child… You jump out of your skin when a grouse flies up.
