Anybody have experience with growing mountain mahogany? I'm thinking I want to grow some curl leafed mountain mahogany on my small cabin property. The soil is sandy/rocky and the current vegetation is mostly sage brush with a few shrubs if that helps.

If it's growing near you then it should transplant...pick a small one and get as much of the roots as possible. I would think if you gave it regular water at first and then stopped you'd be ok. I would wait until spring to do the transplant as the shock this late in the year could definitely affect success.
