This came up on my feed this morning. This ranch picked up 3 mountain lions, together, at night, a little over a week ago. Tried to find some FWP Region 3 specific stats on mountain lions, but couldnt find anything online. Does anyone have anything?

"BOZEMAN - MTN News viewer Tammy Jay Payne shared this brief video of three mountain lions. The lions were spotted at the Payne family's ranch nine miles south of Livingston in the Paradise Valley, at Deep Creek. Tammy says they were surprised when they saw the three mountain lions stroll in their yard together, because it is unusual for them to travel in a pride. Mountain lions are usually solitary animals, unless it is a case of a mother and her cubs."

Female with two year old cubs. Not exactly a pride as described in the article.

They are probably the most understudied predator we have. We helped start and pay for a lion density study in the Root. The results were there's more than twice and up to 4 times the cats they thought here.

I figured it was mother and cubs, not a pride. This reminded me of some of the comments at the Park Co. watershed elk meetings, where ranchers were bringing up predators. Several addressed mountain lions specifically, which made me think of the Bitterroots and all that discussion. So I wanted to look into stats in this area, but I cant find anything online.

Cool photos and interesting article Shoots. Kinda contrasts with the main stream media portrayal of wolves....not being an opportunistic feeder and only eating fresh kill.

I'll help you out with shooting a cat.who wants to take me???Trail camera pics were neat and looks like a predator rich area.I imagine not much of a deer herd left in there. From all I've heard about cats is that they have a taste for deer and often
