Finally found a little bigger bull. How much do Moose antlers continue to grow during August? Is this bull pretty much what he will be or is he gonna keep growing? Guessing he will only have one brow per side

I went for another short scouting trip yesterday. What a beautiful day to wonder around in the woods. I figured I would head back to where I had seen a little bigger bull thinking maybe there were others in the same area. We didn't see any Moose on that side of the divide, but we did run into the same bull about 1.5 away as the crow flies. Still about the same elevation but on the other side of the cc divide. Pretty cool to see him again the next morning, especially with how thick the timber gets in spots. Man time flies, crazy to think I'll be hunting these animals in just over a month!!

Another fun weekend trip in the books. I feel blessed to have drawn this tag and have really enjoyed all the extra time in the woods. I was able to convince my 20 year old daughter to join me and it was great spending some father daughter time together. We saw a beautiful black bear with two cubs but didn't get pictures. Saw a bunch of elk a couple miles off among several nice whitetail and another cow/calf Moose pair. Still no mature looking bulls and honestly after looking at some of the tracks bigger bulls make on youtube videos Im not positive Ive even seen a track from a "big" bull Moose the entire time scouting lol. Seen plenty in that cow looking range but nothing exceptionally larger. Its mildly frustrating but is also making me really explore the deeper darker harder to get to places in this unit, amd there's no shortage. With all the roads you would think there isn't many spots to hide but the steep timbered mountainsides provide tons of holes. I still havent hiked Wilkes creek up to the cc but I think thats on the list for next weekend. Most of my sightings are still on the south side of the cc trail but Ive seen cow Moose in almost every drainage now minus a few. North, South, East and West sides all have Moose so a bull could be just about anywhere come rut. I spoke with the Biologist last week finally who was very pleasant and gave what information he had, but admitted that theres very limited data on Moose. Here's a few pictures from the past few weekends. Of course, I couldn't go a season of scouting without getting a flat. Marsh creek area is tough on tires in case anyone is considering that drive.

Nice work getting all the scouting in!!! You deserve to find a big one and if you keep up the effort through season I have no doubt you’ll find one! I’m enjoying following along.
