Mondays can sure suck...

.....when you go to work feeling you sold your soul for health insurance which your HEALTHY family has NEVER used.

Look on the bright side...

....when you've been summoned for jury duty.

I finished federal grand jury duty not too long ago. 18 months of 2-4 days per month the whole time. It was a major inconvience for me, my family, and my work. So... when your case gets settled in the next few days, keep in mind that it could be worse! Heck, when it runs its full course and is done in ten days, keep the same thing in mind!

I just finished being foreman on a local assaut case where a guy pulled a gun on a couple of guys in a car. Bad luck for him; they were off duty sheriffs!

Actually I am glad I did it. It is very interesting to go through once and see how the process works and how the jury works. For sure, I had a complete screwball on my jury and it was interesting trying to influence people you have never met. My advice? It is what it is and keep an open mind. One of the jurors also had a good point; his daughter was a victim of a sexual assault years ago and the legal process worked for her. He felt it was his duty to pay back the system for that case.

...so far I am either mathematically or demographically unsuitable. 3 days of checking in to go.

Scoot, 18 months....I'm feeling pretty lucky.
