Molded ear plugs.

I have always used the rolled foam ear plugs for shooting. At rifle ranges or areas it’s really loud I do the foamies with ear muffs over.

I knew you had to use the foam ear plugs properly to get their full effect. I was told about the molded ear plugs and know many people who use them. I just didn’t see the need.

This weekend at a Trap shoot there was a booth set up talking about them. They could mold on-site. I didn’t realize it only takes 20 minutes to get the mold. He looked at my ears and got it taken care of. They cost $80 which is a bit. However, I go through a lot of foam plugs in a year. Plus using them today I noticed they worked better for me than the foam plugs.

They are a little harder to get out than the foam ones. Putting them took a little more time but it should get easier as I get used to it. I would highly recommend for anyone who shoots a lot or uses hearing protection often. They also had a Bluetooth option if you were willing to spend more.

Heck. I have white noise with or without them these days. But on a more serious note, I don't always like wearing them, but I think that being able to hear while hunting increases my safety. Just a thought to consider.
