Midnight mind wander

Ok, bare with me for a minute. I had a huge epiphany at work last night, or maybe it was just the 120+ hrs I've put in the past couple of dozen days straight, on the grave yard shift.

If my dad had had me when he was my age, and his him at the same age, his dad the same.....then my great grandfather would have been alive ..................when the Declaration of Independence was signed !!

Doesn't seem like it was so long ago now, does it ?

you know, I was just talking to my wife about the same thing yesterday. The older I get, the more I see how things I used to think of as ancient history really weren't that long ago.

I know , right ? I was born only 11 years after WW II, but it doesn't really register as such to me. Hell, I'm driving a truck & Socks older than that !!!!!!
