He ran off a sow grizzly with two cubs that we bumped into in a tight canyon at close range..

Many moons ago myself and my girlfriend tramped in the Copeland valley on the NZ west coast, this place has a beauty set of hot pools with unbelievable towering mountain views. Anyway there were two yanks in the pools,buck naked, the girl half if the pair told us when working up in Ak they had a foxy that did the job on bears, she worked there counting salmon.

Certainly a great adventure. I must say that an Airdale was the last animal on earth id expect to see up there.

Actually if you read old hunting accounts they were the breed of choice.

But the only ones I've ever been around were pretty useless

Excellent storytelling, sometimes pictures are way better than words, but your words keep up. Amazed that guys your age are getting around that country, tough as nails, way to go.
