Ludicrous things you've cooked in camp

I go pretty simple on hunting trips but on truck camps I’ve done pulled pork, pork ribs, smoked whole chicken, lamb chops, peach cobbler a few times. Also had a guy come out and make a huge pot of beans that the dogs knocked over and ate while we were away from camp.

Always wanted to make french toast just haven’t done it yet.

I always plan a big assortment of food in my head to cook for camp. Then when it comes down to it its cans of soup, oysters, tuna packets whatever. Once we're out hunting preparing dinner suddenly becomes much less important.

I do miss having a camp to go too every year. It may sound weird but I like to hunt solo but camp with people, is that strange?

That is the way I have always hunted big game. Everyone goes their separate way to hunt then meet back at camp to share stories or hopefully, recruit packers. Bird hunting, I would rather have someone with me to BS with while watching the dogs work or waiting for the ducks to fly in.
