Hey all,

I was out fishing in the Beartooths today, found a log, not quite sure what type it is. Still pretty fresh to the area, so I don't know all my logs yet. Can I get some help with an ID?

Cheers.

Looks like I might have to rethink using my .22 for them this fall, then.

Fresh enough I took the strap off by bear spray, but probably not same-day. Kinda tasted like raccoon.

I really need a fishing partner out here- it's not quite the same risks as back in the Ozarks.

Time to tie some bells to your feet and casting arm. Seems to help them echo-locate fishermen! :)

Lincoln Log Duh?I used to play with them all the time as a kid...Last year.

Gerald- I'd heard that bulls would clump together instead of individual "elk duds", but I wasn't sure- the size of it threw me, since I'm only used to whitetail. Still kinda new to the mountains, so I was somewhat serious on the id help. Thanks for the response.

Elk and deer droppings will vary from clumps to pellets to patties dependent on what they are feeding on at various times of the year. Fresher the grass, the looser the droppings.
