Weird full circle moment here. I did indeed draw an elk tag in WY. And I did indeed tag out. And it was, indeed, well within lever action and irons distance... don't know if I'll ever recover the style points I missed out on there.
Also did load development for my 336. I grabbed a box of Barnes TSX 150s and was just hoping they would be clay target size groups at 100. First load I tried, nice little MOA group. Then another. I've run two more ranges with it since, and it now seems to be one of those rifles that naturally puts a bullet right where you want it to go. I'm big time stoked to get her out after some Florida whitetails in a few weeks.
Anyone ever put a Wild West
trigger kit in their 336? Reviews seem favorable and I wouldn't imagine it would be too hard. Since I now have a rifle that is worth worrying about accuracy with apparently.
