Something seems fishy here. That doesn’t look like any mark 8 I’ve seen. Maybe there was an older version I don’t know about though. Either way, MOA turrets and a mil dot reticle sucks. How inexpensive are you talking? $100? $200?

I took the pics myself its not on ebay hes a legit guy known for 20 years but Im not real savy on scopes is this a good one or not is what Im wondering looking to mount on 6.5prc Christensen ??

Talk to Leupold. Send them the pics and serial number. Tell them everything you know and everything your buddy told you. They're the only ones that can confirm

I just sent an email to Leupold I will most certainly check to make sure legit good advise thank you. So lets say its legit is this a good scope? Would you guys use ? pros and cons ?

I’d give it a hard pass. Just because your buddy is legit doesn’t mean he has a legit scope. What’s he asking for it?

I already emailed Leupold I will make sure it is legit before I do anything no doubt!

So even if it is real, it’s hard for us to give you an opinion without a price. If it’s real and he offers it to you for $100, I’d say sure give it a try. $500, maybe but probably not. Anything over that I wouldn’t touch it.

We kind of do some trading back and forth with work stuff so no cash at all but value wise if I had to place a number would be about 200-300 ish !!

Aren't Mark 8 scopes around 3-5k? from what i have heard, REAL mark 8 scopes are great. I know it's kicking a dead horse but that 100% looks like a Chinese knock off to me. The print on the box looks fishy, what is the tube diameter? Should be 35mm, that one looks like 1". Mark 8 means 8X magnification and 7.5-33x is about 4.4x magnification and form what i can tell, the Mark 8 options are either 1.1-8x or 3.5-25x. I would treat that scope (and the guy trying to sell it to you) like they had COVID-19.

Well Im as curious as anybody for sure we will all find out soon enough.. You all might be right we will see good thing I asked and right now Im not out anything and can move on if not a deal and let my buddy know he got took from who he got it from. Hes had it for about a year and no idea what he paid..

Looks real fishy to me, what do they mean by custom model? Weird magnification, usually that would be X8 and that looks like a 1” tube etc......just be careful. Don’t make a decision you’ll later regret.
