Are there usually leftover cow tags for Colorado 1st rifle season? Unit # 44?

If you look in the Colorado Regs booklet there is generally a star beside the hunts that had leftover tags last year. Also if you can gain access to private land you can get a better chance at buying a leftover tag.

Have the regs in front of me now. They had tags leftover for unit 44 for cow 1st season, or Private land either sex 1st season only. The public land either sex tag for 1st season sold out last year. They did have 4th season either sex tags available last year for public land though. Good luck.
