Lead bullets

In CO we also have to use conicals and I've had good luck with TC Maxi-Balls (370 gr). Also I've heard good things about No Excuses and Bullshop conicals as well.

I tried Hornady Great Plains solid lead conicals this season for my mule deer hunt. I'm very satisfied with their performance on both paper and game. At 100 yards, broadside shot, it penetrated all the way to the far side, passing through both shoulders, and stopped at the skin. There was a lot of bloodshot area in the deer, but maybe that would happen with any 425-grain bullet.
