Lawsuit targets new CPW regulations for SWAs

Lord help us.

Took all of 2 years for asking non-hunters to contribute financially to wildlife management to backfire on us. That's about 1 year and 11 months longer than expected.

They have lobbed a lawsuit over this before right?

I trust, I think, that our AG office will do a good job on this.

If you ever find yourself having a discussion over this with someone who disagrees with you, remind them that even the hunters and anglers are highly restricted on many of these properties on when they’re allowed to hunt and fish. Between the highly regulated hunting seasons themselves and further unique restrictions that come with each property.

lots of these properties were purchased with habitat and wintering ground preservation as the priority, not hunting. There’s a remarkably huge difference between allowing highly regulated hunting for 3 months of the year and unfettered mt biking, trail running, and cross country skiing 365 days a year.

There absolutely is science, contrary to the lawsuit’s claims, showing how detrimental unfettered recreation is to ungulates during the sensitive months.

There’s is an irony in how these non consumptive recreation type folks want to badly conserve animals but don’t want to have to make the sacrifices that it takes to help conserve them. Help them see that in an respectful way. And as hunters show them you can have the restraint necessary too

Complete hypocrisy that an organization named “Friends of Animals” would lobby for looser regulations on motorized traffic and outdoor recreational use……. Pretty clear what their long term goal is, get CPW to limit hunting and fishing on SWAs eventually.
