Mt. Healy, just north of Denali National Park.
A convenient, bug-free, very steep hike up from the Parks Hwy near Healy, AK.

Old relic still hanging on. I always wonder what has passed by some of these trees.

Indeed. In some areas, they can be stunningly old. But have you ever wondered why their grain corkscrews like that and if maybe all the trees out there corkscrew the same direction?

It is interesting some trees have a twist in them & some are straight as an arrow even on steep ground. I will have to pay more attention on the direction of the twist. I do know those twisted trees don't make very good firewood.

Late season hunt for chuckars/huns/pheasants/quail on the Snake River
Only problem is Alaska dogs know nothing about barbed wire, so we need to carry surgical stapler.

There are some cool mountains in the background, but I was photo bombed.

Went out to photo some antelope in unit 7, they didn't cooperate, shot Pueblo's and had a cold one instead.
