Yesterday my wife caught one of the biggest whitefish that we’ve ever caught. She also caught a nice laker that will go on the grill this weekend.

Does the grill adequately cook the oils out. Never been able to stomach lake trout.

Lake trout from inland lakes in MN and Canada are absolutely delicious. I'd take them over walleye any day. I had one from Lake Michigan and could not eat it, as hard as I tried.

That's a heck of a whitefish and a nice trout, too. I definitely miss fishing those shield lakes since the border shut down!

We love fresh lake trout. Like NoWiser said, some of the trout from the Great Lakes are not good table fare. Lake trout doesn't freeze very well so we eat them fresh or within a couple weeks of freezing them. Don't overcook them or they turn into a rubber like substance. They are fantastic smoked.
