Deer are surprisingly very tough. She may very well be alive and fine. Or the thump could have been an unseen tree limb.
Sucks either situation but it does happen. Maybe hunt the same location and see if she shows again.

Kicking myself because I hate making bad shots/losing animals so I let a nice buck walk at 36yds 2 nights ago.
Sorry you didn’t find her. It’s the worst. Hopefully it was a clean miss
