Ever since I opened the store, I have had an uphill fight with the state government. Most of this was brought on by the competition down the street. His brother is a politician, his friends are state representatives, they duck hunt and golf with him.
First it was the sale of hunting license, he tried to hold that up, but it went thru. Then it was my State Firearms Retail License, it took months but by never giving up, we finally got that. Finally it was the deer check station. 11 months I have been fighting with the NJ DIVISION of FISH and WILDLIFE, to become a deer check station. They had all kind of reasons why I couldn't be one, but one by one I shot their reasoning down. Then they refused to talk to me, I would be on hold long enough I would hang up. I went to my local Republican Represenatives, who refused to hear anything about it or even discuss it. One night while at a fishing club meeting, Sen John Adler was there giving a speech for re-election. I cornered him and explained my dilemma (sp). Being a Democrat, naturaly he was sympathetic, and said he would carry my fight on and make things happen. Well he did (kinda) he didn't put a lot of effort into it, but at least they spoke to him. Last Friday, I called and he said he didn't hold out much hope, but they would keep working on it.
Sunday evening I posted on my web site that I needed some help and would appreciate it if some of the guys called his office in support of our deer check station cause.
Monday morning about 11 am, his office called and asked me to please tell people to quit calling, they were overloading the phone system. WOW, that was impressive, I agreed to ask them to stop. They said Fish and Wildlife agreed to revisit my case. 2 hours later they called and said I was approved as a deer check in. I never knew I had that many friends, makes you feel good. That was my last hurdle, at least for the time being, I am sure they will throw more speed bumps in front of me.
Just had to tell someone other than the folks that got behnd me, and my cause.

Moosie, I have not forgotten about you, I am just waiting for the appropriate size to get here. Your an XLarge right.
