Been camping last few nights and today took a hike in a place I know pretty good. In the area there are roads that we usually struggle to get thru till mid April and some typically even around 4th July weekend. Today I could easily access all but the worst road that goes high and it's probably a week away. I don't know whats coming this summer (feels like its here already) but its not right. Snotel data is allover place and within this Pic basically some of right furthest away should be110-129%. Where i am and ridge in front of pic snotel says is <50%, obviously neither is accurate. Hopefully it starts uncharacteristicly raining soon, need any moisture we can.

The Earth has warmed and cooled over the eons. Never have so many people been alive at one time, though, and this is the first 100-year span where we have introduced things such as nuclear blasts/fallout/waste leaks and micro-plastics which are going to impact our surroundings and the health of humans until the sun gives up the ghost.

Whether the current drought and summer heatwaves are man-made is for people smarter than me to unravel as the data and research is numerous and subject to bias and skewing much how tobacco and cancer research was at conflict for decades.

I predict if this change is because of us that we will collectively do too little to fix the disaster. The majority of us and every nation is out for getting the most as fast as can so the costs we create that are flung onto everyone are not going to change the behavior of selfishness and bottom line profits.

I apply the same mantra to my world as I do to big game hunting: These are the good old days. Things we recreationally enjoy will never be this "cheap" compared to average household earnings of Americans. Elk tags in Utah and sheep tags in Wyoming and guided hunts and ammunition are going to outpace inflation and earnings growth. Count on it.
