idaho mule deer

my dad and I will be hunting unit 48 or 49 in Idaho this year for mule deer or maybe elk. looking for any knowledge on that area. I've talked to a couple biologists but local experience is always the best information. If anybody has any areas to start out in we would really appreciate the help. Not looking for monsters just nice deer. Thanks.

Are you planning on drawing tags, or general season? bow or rifle? Not many general season rifle elk opportunities there.

we will be rifle hunting during the general for deer.
