Idaho moose refund problems

I hadn’t thought of the potential impact on NR trophy odds.

The number of guys trying for gen elk will drop drastically since have to buy hunting license to apply versus sitting online where most fail to get a tag at no cost BUT the number of nonres guys packing said license will SKYROCKET so they will say “what the heck give sheep, moose or goat a go since I blew the big $$ already.” Can only hope the $90+ convenience fee to apply MSG thins a few out….but not holding my breath on that.

There will be a ton of guys who can put in for OIL or D, E and A that never would have in the current general system because they will already have bought a license.

Good for some, bad for others. It'll be a change fore sure. Doesn't take too many more NR in the draws to significantly hurt odds.

Also, the fronting of OIL tag fees may help...and as word gets out that they will possibly have trouble getting back said tag fee if they don't draw...

I just got off the phone with an IDFG customer service worker and a supervisor. Both assured me that IDFG has released the money to the bank/credit card company so there is nothing more they can do. They said my issue is with the card issuer.

Yeah they told me the same thing but that just isn’t the case.

I called the Idaho licensing department and at first they said there’s no issue, but I assured them there is a widespread issue. We looped in another Idaho department rep that confirmed there is an issue and they are actively working to identify and resolve the issue. He indicated that they expect resolution prior to June 30

All of these purchases should be done on a credit card. I never let anyone have direct access to my checking account. You have a lot more options in the event of a problem with a credit card.

I also saw a refund on my credit card the other day for no moose tag in Idaho and now it has disappeared as well.

Was that a pending transaction to your credit card or a pending direct deposit to checking account as the OP mentioned happened to him.

Not sure why an in-person credit card purchase gets refunded by check but an online credit card purchase goes back to the card directly.

How did the OP purchase his application? Just seems odd to see a direct deposit from IDFAG into ones bank account. I received a paper check for my refund.

Just an aside, the Governor’s office in Idaho apparently doesn’t realize that there is a state called “West Virginia”. Their drop down box lists 49 states and the District of Columbia.
