Idaho moose refund problems

Was that a pending transaction to your credit card or a pending direct deposit to checking account as the OP mentioned happened to him.

Not sure why an in-person credit card purchase gets refunded by check but an online credit card purchase goes back to the card directly.

How did the OP purchase his application? Just seems odd to see a direct deposit from IDFAG into ones bank account. I received a paper check for my refund.
I paid online with a credit card. A pending refund showed about a week ago and then fell off like they didn’t get the confirmed refund transaction.
 
I did my family's OIL apps at a store with a credit card. I am a resident...but all our refunds came as checks.
 
I also had a pending transaction on my CC for moose refund dated the 7th, I entered it into my Quicken spreadsheet. Now it's just gone from my CC statement. Sounds like this happened to a bunch of people, WTF?
 
Per a supervisor I talked to at IDFG yesterday, anything you may read on an internet forum that says this refund fiasco is IDFG’s fault is just plain false. So, consider that caveat when you read what I am about to write (on an internet forum).

I worked my way up the IDFG chain with the first two people denying that it was an IDFG problem. The third person said it wasn’t really his area so he couldn’t comment one way or the other. He suggested that I email licensing for a more knowledgeable response. So, I did that. And, I cc’d the governor’s office (thanks @Potsie for that suggestion). Within about a half hour, a very diplomatic gentleman on the governor’s staff called me. I explained my problem to him and shared that it appeared to be affecting a lot of people. He assured me that he would look into it. The first thing this morning, he called me again. He said that the problem was on their side and they hoped to have a resolution next week. So, I am cautiously optimistic.
 
State of Idaho’s fiscal year ends June 30th, expect returns in July. Cash balance will be yuge this year!

I don't know many details, but I have heard a lot of complains about the payment software/system changes in the last 1.5 years. A lot of state employees were a couple months behind on getting reimbursements and payroll delays last year.
 
Well I just got a notification from my card that I have a credit from Idaho, but I don't see it in my account....again
 
My checking account was straightened out today with the refund deposited back into it. Hopefully that's the end of it.
