Yes in some areas and reductions in others. It looks like some moose hunts are getting reduced or eliminated.
I have done some research on sustainable goat harvest. My research suggests anywhere from 3-5% of the actual herd count. I have been putting in for a unit that has over 100 goats counted and they will only issue 3 permits. I have talked with the biologists and all I get is that they want to stay conservative. In their last count they did not count goats where I continue to see billies every year. I realize they cannot count everything. The harvest has included 6-9 year olds over the last several years, also indicative of a healthy population. Frustrated.
