Started going thru the units to see what happened. Chance of drawing a bull tag in Idaho is getting pretty slim.

Bull tags: 9% statewide

Cow tags: 48% statewide.

(Obviously, varies by unit, but the overall odds of having a controlled hunt bull are now getting closer to "none" than "slim".)

There might be a few thousand bulls available for the taking with OTC tags to make up for it.
Are you saying Idaho should go to a points system to "increase the odds"??

You can thank the internet for that.

I wonder what the breakdown is that shows the increase in the total number of applicants over the years. As new hunters get involved, and realize they are too late in the game for points, they probably look at all of the random draw states.

Probably a bunch of Utah and Nevada residents wanting to hunt elk more than once in their life.

So you're saying that Idaho brought this upon itself by being awesome...
