In a couple weeks, I'll be spending 5 days backpacking and doing some recon near Leadore for my upcoming November ML elk hunt. I'll mostly be in 30A but plan to spend some time in 58/59A, especially when the eclipse happens. I plan to backpack in somewhere higher for the eclipse and will be bringing a small, 2W fly rod if I can find a small stream that has brook trout or cutthroats. I've been looking over the eightmile canyon area as well as Scott peak/Italian Peak areas but I can't tell if these places have fishable streams. It all looks pretty dry. Any suggestions for such a place?

Willow creek on the south side of 18 mile peak has some very small brookies, but I've yet to see anything bigger than 4", and I looked pretty hard (with flyrod in hand). It also goes completely underground in many places only to spring up down canyon further. While it's not backcountry Birch creek has much better fishing.
