As Ike was coming through about 2:30 Saturday, I thought I would give a description of how it was going. I had just typed in the title "It's really blowing now" and Boom, we were without power. The winds were really whipping it and as I sat on my front porch I could hear trees snapping in the woods near the House. Early Saturday I had gotten out the Generator and went to Lowes to buy Heavy Duty cords and Power Strip made for such. When the lights went I had almost everything up and running in 5 minutes.
Sunday Morning I surveyed the damage and of course the yard was a mess and an awning was pulled loose from the back of the garage. When I went around to the back of my shop a tree had snapped and tore my Weather Head and meter from the shop. That was the worst on my end. We got everything repaired and Electricity was back on by 3:00 Sunday afternoon. To everyone in Houston, you have my best wishes. John

I am just about 40 miles west of Houston and came through without a scratch here. Kept power through the whole event, got a little rain and wind. Had a few small limbs & leaves to pickup, not bad at all.

My office is on the west outscirts of Houston, lost power, had a few shingles missing, but not bad all in all. The east side was a lot worse.
