I.R.S. interesting [ but i`m paying]

Uhhhhhhh that brings up a good question..... I'm uhhhhhh.... Just not sure what that is ;)

I'm going through a Tax Audit right now. It started in December and we're down to the final papers. It's the Chitz that even if you pay he tax's, hire an Accountant, you have to prove everything you wrote off or did was legit. The last request from the IRS I replied that I had Given them everything I had and They can use that or tell me I owe something. I was nervouse sendin gthe fax and Expected the Cops to show up the Next day. How dare I talk back to the IRS ... ;) Fetching crazy.

Anyways, the guy I was dealing with was pretty good, had about a 3" folder of papers on me and when I asked why so big he stated that was the smallest folder he's ever had. I couldn't imagine what type of paperwork the IRS goes through on a big company.

Hopefully I'll have the Final Deal done soon. You lose even if you win. But I know they are doing their job, just like the cops giving a Speeding ticket. Fortunately I wasn't caught gonig to fast...... "yet" ;)

I find it weird that there isn`t a "law" that makes it illegal if you don`t comply

they used the term "enforcement" and court case to make their point [ I.R.S.] seems evasive....why can`t they answer the question?

That's interesting. I know a guy who supposedly has not paid any income tax for 10 years. I'm not sure how he gets away with it. I didn't want to ask, didn't want there to be any chance of me being blamed if/when he gets busted. This guy has a regular job and makes about the same as I do ($50,000/year) So, maybe it is true and there is no law requiring it.

I don`t get it either, My Buddy lives in Chino Valley,Az hasn`t "filed" in 15 yrs... He pays...from the deduction on his check... but never files... I told him some day they will nail his ass...he said they quit bothering him in 1998... hasn`t heard from them since...

Yeah, my "friend" pays some too, but very little, I think he claims the maximum number of exemptions, so not much is deducted from his paychecks. Originally I believe he didn't pay just because he didn't have the money, as he was paying child support for three kids. Now he can afford to pay but I guess he figures why bother, since he hasn't for all these years, why start now?

True NHY... but it would be nice if we didn`t have to file....flat tax pay as you go or something ... that way everyone pays a "fair tax"

..then we'd have as many out of work accountants and tax attorneys as we have illegals.;)

With as little as I pay in income tax, it wouldn't be worth it for me to even think about trying to get out of paying. I just looked at my latest paycheck stub, and the deduction for federal withholding is only 4 percent, yes FOUR percent! What a bargain. There must be a whole lot of people paying a whole lot more than I am, otherwise with this war going on, and all the other handouts our government is responsible for, this country would be broke, no doubt about it. How much do you pay cj?

Last year the "bloodsuckers" took $9,800.00.... thats my wife and I.... we don`t have alot of deductions..... this year getting an extension ... I hate filing every year.

I believe the law is to pay taxes, not FILE tax return. If you don't owe taxes, its not illegal to not file tax returns. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

One thing that chaps my ass is when people get back MORE money than they paid in....I don't mind if the income tax liability is $0, but I have seen people pay in $2500 and get a $5000 refund. Thats not right.

I hate tax time.

I completely agree with that. I think it's called the "earned income credit." Many people do get thousand of dollars "refunded" when they paid little or nothing in! How is that a refund? Sounds like welfare to me. |oo

Yes, it is the earned income credit. There is also a direct credit per child of $1000 that can be "refunded" even if nothing is paid in. If you need welfare, sign up for welfare, it shouldn't be dispensed through the tax filing system.

what sucks is people who have a company that does several million a year but the owner doesnt draw a paycheck and doesnt pay chit for personal taxes....really burns me up !

Did you mean 'nets' a couple of million? Would it be a fair assumption that such loopholes were a product of effective tax statute lobbying?

This is a "favorite" of illegals.. they use a tax I.D. number... all the hispanic radio stations tell them how to collect this.... one guy has a huge bizness just for this purpose:BLEEP:
