Sunburned, hung-over, broken toe and a few fish...life is good.

Got back yesterday from some partying in MN and thought I would throw out a pic or two.

Axl was loving all the water, but after chasing bumpers for the kid all day he was using the ladder by evening. Here he is showing off for the ladies.

Finally made it to the fishing part of the trip. Fishing was slow, but we did boat a few. I burned the hell out of my legs/feet, so the wind pants were on after the first day. |oo

These guys were driving Axl nuts. He assumed since we were on a boat there were ducks to be had.

My buddy asked if Axl would jump out and I said not unless I give the go-ahead. Fifteen minutes later while bringing in a fish, "splash". The loon lived, but Axl had to sit in the corner. He was not a happy camper.

All in all, it was a good week and I think my liver may even survive.

BTW, if anyone watches the Ron Schara (or the guy that has the dog Raven in his show) television show you may catch some action of Axl. While they were baiting his hook and holding his hand, the camera man was shooting vid of Axl. :D

You MT boys dont see the sun to often? sunscreen has been around for a while  Hey, even i burnt the tops of my feet this weekend while fishing so don't feel too bad. Made it all the way to MN but couldnt go a little further to see Schmalts, I am hurt :(

Looks like a good time was had. My dog knows exactly how AXL feels. Kahula, (my dog) is not allowed on the boat during fishing trips. Everytime someone cast she dives off the boat chasing the plug, lure, whatever. Then the ol girl weighs 80lbs dry, and you gotta heave her heavy ass up over the side of the boat, and I have 26 inches of free board. If we ain fishing, she sits on the front deck an barks at the geese. Geese taught her they weren't as vulnerable as they look when she was a pup, she leaves them alone.

Craig, that looked like great fun... Well ceptin for the burns...

Looks like my poor dog when he gets his time outs, great looking fish, one day I think I will be running after pike, I hear their good eating, and the sunset looks like a perfect ending to a great day.

Thanks for sharing your adventures... :)

mtmiller,
What part of the state were you in? Looks to be a big body of water, Mille Lacs, Lake of the Woods? Glad you had a good time over here, looks like some good shore lunch meals were had also.....

I was fishing on Winnie and Cass lakes and drinking on Detroit Lakes and Cross Lakes. :D

Drinking on Detroit Lake? Heck you were in my backyard! Too bad we couldn't have connected, I would've bought you a beer at Zorbaz or the Lakeside. I live only about a mile out of town, but my place of employment is about 300 feet from the lake..

I had a couple of Newcastles at Zorbaz. Nice place, but I don't think I could afford to get too fugged up there. The Sandbar on the otherhand fulfilled my wishes. ;) :D

yeah, Zorbaz's isn't cheap. But you should have asked for the 'local price'. The Sandbar is where all the youngsters hang out, they can get more beer for mom and dad's money...

Zorbaz's = good price to local
Miller = not local = bad price

Sandbar = young girls = mommy/daddy w/ $$$ = Miller good choice ;) :D

Did you remember to keep one foot in the water while drinking mt?
I may have pissed on my boots once, but I don't remember the one foot in the water thing.
