I have a buddy that wants to sell me a Howa 1500 in 7mm WSM. 5 boxes of brass with dies and 5 boxes of factory ammo for $400. Should I buy it?

I have been shooting a 7mm WSM since shortly after they came out. I went in to get a 300 but they were sold out. The clerk handed me a 7WSM to look at and I never handed it back. My only complaint is ammo availability and price but I got the dies to reload it so that's less of an issue. Now I just need the time to reload it. My gun is a tack driver. Loaded with 160 gr accubonds it will put 3 rounds touching if I can hold it still enough. I've done it but I figure I've never had a chance to try and make three rounds touch in an elk so why spend the time and ammo trying to repeat it. It makes slick work of an elk and is deadly on deer. For that price I don't see how you could go wrong unless your buddy bent the barrel and didn't tell you.

He is a wheeler dealer and has fallen in love with Weatherby rifles in Weatherby calibers. I guess he likes to throw his money away on ammo. Probably needs $400 to buy more ammo.

Miller has a 7 shorty but I'd wait for Oak's endorsement.;):D

slick, that sounds like a heckuva deal. I like the WSM's.

If not, give me his name. I could make some money on a deal like that. The brass, dies, and ammo are worth three hundred. You are getting the rifle for $100.

For what it's worth, those Howas are dang accurate guns, my son has the Howa 1500 in 7 Rem Mag and it's a good shooter. It would truly make a great gift.

Well I bought the Howa 1500 but ir was $450. It didn't have 5 boxes of factory ammo it had 7 boxes, with 50 pieces of never fired brass and the reloading dies. So it was $50 dollars more but still a great deal.

Glad you got it done slick. Will make a fine gift. Thx for your son's service from me & family.
