How to inspect optics for damage or glass distortion?

Looking for tips on how to inspect optics for any damage or glass distortion. I purchased a pair of Leupold BX 5 Santiam 15x binos and want to ensure they are no defects, glass issues, or distortion as they are being shipped from EuroOptics. Thanks for your input!

Why are you worried?? What did you pay for them? Hope you didn't pay that "sale price" I could have saved you a couple hundred buck on them.

I paid $799 for a discontinued color, anyway seems like a great price... I thought maybe something is wrong with them..
