How fast do you travel?

Where we will be hunting is about 9500. Not going to camp that high, I think its right at 8000-8300. Did my hike tonight and timed myself, 42 lbs in the pack, did 4 miles in an hour and 15 minutes, tar road with 3 small hills. I want to get to the trail head at noon and sit the rest of the day to get used to altitude, then go in in the morning and take our time, set up camp then maybe scout the evening.

Give yourself 1 mile per hour to be safe. Weather can slow you down as well. I'm 1-3 depending on variables and the 3 is hard to get for the most part.
